Bio
Michael’s practice includes representing consumers and small businesses throughout the country in complex litigation involving claims of unfair and deceptive practices in the insurance and financial services industries, business-to-business disputes, fraud, insurance bad faith, and litigation concerning environmental issues.
Since 2019, Michael has been selected as a Super Lawyer® for Business Litigation, which recognizes no more than 5% of attorneys in the state. Since 2016, Michael has been recognized by Best Lawyers® for his work in Commercial Litigation, Litigation – Insurance, Mass Tort Litigation / Class Actions – Plaintiffs. Michael is also a registered mediator on the Alabama State Court Mediator Roster.
Michael is a graduate of Cumberland School of Law at Samford University located in Birmingham, Alabama and is admitted to practice law in Alabama, Mississippi, and Kentucky.
Michael is a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Vestavia, Alabama where he has served as senior warden of the vestry. He is also the president of the board of directors for Wild Alabama, a nonprofit corporation dedicated to protecting the wilderness areas in Alabama’s forests. In addition to Wild Alabama, he has worked with numerous other non-profits helping them to navigate legal issues impacting their organizations.
