Bio
Matt regularly represents consumers and small businesses in complex litigation and class actions who have been financially harmed by a corporation’s deceptive and unfair trade practices. For example, Matt dedicates much of his time challenging companies who charge consumers line-item fees that are not what they purport to be. Matt also frequently advocates for victims of Fair Credit Reporting Act or Telephone Consumer Protection Act abuses and has lectured on these topics to fellow lawyers.
Since 2021, Matt has been recognized by Best Lawyers® for his work in Commercial Litigation, Mass Tort Litigation / Class Actions – Plaintiffs, and Product Liability Litigation – Plaintiffs. Since 2019, Matt has been selected as a Super Lawyer® for Consumer Law, which recognizes no more than 5% of attorneys in the state. He has an AV Preeminent® rating, which is the highest peer rating standard by Martindale-Hubbell.
Matt is admitted to practice law in Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi. He received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University where he served as a member of the Trial Advocacy Board and the Cumberland Law Review. Matt received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Auburn University.
Outside of the office, you might catch Matt playing the drums at a charity event or watering hole with his band, Pool Hall Special.
