Bio
Courtney’s practice focuses on complex litigation, including class actions with a national, state-wide, and regional scope. Prior to joining Methvin Terrell, P.C., Courtney practiced at a regional insurance defense firm with a focus on personal and premises liability.
Courtney received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Alabama School of Law. While in law school, Courtney was selected to be an editor for the Alabama Law Review, a member of the John A. Campbell Moot Court Board, and an advocate for the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Team. She also served as Vice-President of the Bench & Bar Legal Honor Society and Vice-President of Membership for the Dorbin Association. Courtney has a passion for Alabama history, and her research was selected for publication in Volume 65 of the Alabama Law Review. Courtney obtained her undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, in broadcast news and political science from the University of Alabama.
Courtney is admitted to practice in Alabama and is an active member of the Birmingham Bar Association.
Recently, Courtney was selected to the 2020 Mid-South Rising Star list by Super Lawyers® for the Class Action/Mass Torts practice area, an honor reserved for those lawyers who exhibit excellence in practice. Only 2.5% of attorneys in the Mid-South receive this distinction. Courtney received the same distinction in 2019 being named as a Super Lawyers Rising Star.
