Bio

Courtney represents individuals and small businesses across the nation in the areas of complex litigation, class actions, and consumer protection. She regularly brings claims against large corporations who have engaged in unfair or deceptive conduct. Courtney has experience litigating in both state and federal courts as well as several arbitration forums, including JAMS, FINRA, and the AAA. Although her work often takes her out of state, Courtney enjoys every opportunity to litigate here in Alabama. Born and raised in Greene County, Courtney understands the needs and experiences of rural Alabamians and is always eager to fight to protect their interests.

Courtney firmly believes in taking the time to analyze the law and ensure that her clients’ strongest claims are pursued. She was nominated by her peers as a Best Lawyers® “One to Watch” in Mass Tort Litigation / Class Actions – Plaintiffs. Since 2019, she has also been selected as a Mid-South Rising Star by Super Lawyers® for Class Action/Mass Torts, which recognizes no more than 2.5% of attorneys in the state. An avid writer, Courtney co-authored a chapter of the American Bar Association’s Practitioner’s Guide to Class Actions in 2021.

Courtney received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Alabama School of Law where she served on the Alabama Law Review, Campbell Moot Court Board, and Jessup International Law Moot Court Team.  Courtney obtained her undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, in broadcast news and political science from the University of Alabama.

Courtney is admitted to practice in Alabama and is an active member of the Birmingham Bar Association and the Alabama Association for Justice. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Jake, their twins, and their favorite rescue dog, Bo. They all love to travel together, especially to their camp house on the Tombigbee River.
